What Does Being On The Same Page As The President Mean?
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard insisted today there was no daylight between President Donald Trump’s assessment that Iran on the verge of getting a nuclear weapon and her own prior characterization that Iran was not building one.
“President Trump was saying the same thing that I said in my annual threat assessment back in March in Congress. Unfortunately, too many people in the media don’t care to actually read what I said,” Gabbard told reporters as she arrived on Capitol Hill for an appearance before the Senate Appropriations Committee.
So, for the record, here's what she previously said:
Gabbard testified in March that the US intelligence community “continues to assess Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader Khamenei has not authorized a nuclear weapons program that he suspended in 2003.”
What Trump said this morning on Air Force One: Iran was “very close” to getting such a weapon.
This morning, Trump also re-truthed Mike Huckabee lengthy text message of praise: ‘This moment sought YOU!’
Mike Huckabee, the US ambassador to Israel, who is also a Baptist minister and a former Arkansas governor is urging Trump to do the right thing, referencing how courageous Truman was when he dropped the bomb on Japan. Huckabee's mission in life, is to hasten the Apocalypse.
