Friends, Relatives and Staffers of Two Lawmakers Are Grieving Today and What Does Trump Say?

I have been briefed on the terrible shooting that took place in Minnesota, which appears to be a targeted attack against State Lawmakers. Our Attorney General, Pam Bondi, and the FBI, are investigating the situation, and they will be prosecuting anyone involved to the fullest extent of the law. Such horrific violence will not be tolerated in the United States of America. God Bless the great people of Minnesota, a truly great place!

No condolences. No empathy.

He is no doubt outraged.

But only because the coverage of his birthday parade was interrupted.

wasn't it his buddy who stated that the downfall of the US is its empathy?

@samueltyler2

“The fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy, the empathy exploit,” Elon Musk said during a three-hour interview with the podcaster Joe Rogan. “There it’s they’re exploiting a bug in Western civilization, which is the empathy response.”

My retort to Elon is this:

How did our empathic response to those suffering work out for the leaders of Nazi Germany, imperialist Japan and fascist Italy?

@jeancolby TACO Don's good buddy said the fall of developed countries was caused by empathy. I see empathy as important.

@samueltyler2 For the vast majority of people empathy means nothing, who cares about other peoples feelings anymore. Society has caused a dog eat dog mentality.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@jeancolby it seems that way. I hope the trend is reversible.

@samueltyler2 When the vast majority see some light at the end of the tunnel, maybe. But every bodies light is different. A huge change is needed to accommodate everyone. I don't see anything happening soon.

@samueltyler2 Has empathy helped the starving kids in Africa? The little faces we see in the commercials are the
great grand children of the same faces I saw in commercials when I was a kid.

Empathy is usually a feel good act for the empathetic person, and rarely gets to the root cause of the problem they
are trying to address.

Those great grandchildren of the starving kids of Africa in the 60's would be much better off now if instead of
empathy, we had gone in and developed their country and gave them jobs.
