Are u for or against illegal immigration 🔐

Of course many of you are aware of the deportations going on here in the US right now.
I think most of us are against anything illegal.
But here's the problem. President Trump seems so eager to get certain demographics of people out of the US for his own personal reasons or agenda. But what about the people he pardoned
from January 6. Do you see the hypocrisy here. We are talking about a federal crime here . You cannot expect people to follow the law when you are breaking them yourself. What is your opinion on this mess. Answers please. 🙄

Looking on from Canada, American immigration policy has always seemed weird and contradictory to me. Aside from the limited number of legal immigration options, the message seems to be: We will try to keep you out, and make it as dangerous as possible for you to get in. But if you manage to get in, we will employ you, any kids you have in the USA will be citizens, and now and then there will be an amnesty for you as well. I don't see any consistency here unless the basic theory is kind of Darwinian -- those who make it into the USA without dying, must be strong enough to stay and become part of the country.

@ThePatientAnarchist There is more method in the madness. Undocumented migrants create a secondary "black" economy,which serves to keep wages low in the seasonal and manual labor markets and allows low standard rentals at nice profits to slum lords in some big cities. They also provide a client pool for unscrupulous businesses of many types as they deal in cash and cant really make a complaint to the authorities if unfairly treated. The government could easily stop all this, with ID checks for every employee and similar checks for every rental agreement enforced.. But they dont..😷
@whowasthatmaskedman that's a convincing analysis, thank you.

@ThePatientAnarchist Cheap labor workers.
Consumerism migrants. Buffer class minority group. Fighting for model minority status. Business as usual in the USA.
