Cory Booker Repeats “Peaceful” Lie About Riots, Gets Shut Down by LA Police Chief
Have you ever heard a politician say something and thought, “Are we living on the same planet?” Well, Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) recently gave us one of those moments. He looked at the fiery anti-ICE protests in Los Angeles and decided they were doing just fine.
On TV, Booker said, “The reality is we see peaceful protests launching in Los Angeles.” Peaceful? That’s a nice word. But videos and news reports showed people throwing rocks, concrete, and even fireworks at federal officers. It sounds more like a warzone than a walk in the park!
But don’t just take our word for it, or even the shocking videos. Let’s hear from the man in charge of the police right there in Los Angeles. LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell painted a very, very different picture. He didn’t use the word “peaceful.” Not even close.
“This violence that I’ve seen is disgusting, it’s escalated now since the beginning of this incident. What we saw the first night was bad, what we’ve seen subsequent to that is getting increasingly worse and more violent. Tonight we had individuals out there shooting commercial grade fireworks at our officers, that can kill you.”
The Chief also said the situation was “getting out of control” and his officers were “overwhelmed.”
