I predict that Elon will basically say FU to Trump and if the need arises to rescue American astronauts he will emerge as the hero by rescuing the astronauts out of his own pocket.
He will then spin the blame on Trump and all members of Congress for never having had a successor plan into place for the Space Shuttle program.
