Ukraine gave Russia its nuclear weapons and Russia promised not to attack Ukraine in return, in a written memorandum, 30 years ago.
Ukraine is a free country, they can join any union they want.
If Russia wants to defend itself, they should do so on their own ground.

@helenS Some serious lies of omission here.
That agreement was dependent on Ukraine remaining neutral.
This became null and void when the US carried out a coup in Ukraine in 2014 and rescinded neutrality and made NATO membership top priority and rescinded autonomy in Crimea so NATO could seize the Black Sea Fleet.
Zelensky lied his way into the presidency and made seeking NATO membership part of the constitution.

@helenS And you mean the "free" Ukraine that cancelled elections and declared martial law indefinitely?
And no country would sit by and allow an enemy military alliance on their doorstep.

@helenS Ukraine has not been an independent country since the US coup in 2014. And even if it were sovereignty doesn't magically make a country immune to consequences for their actions just like people are not magically immune from consequences.
You are implying Ukraine should be immune to any consequences based on your feelings and making all kinds of accusations you can't substantiate.
This is also a distraction from your deliberate misrepresentation of the facts.
And great job proving you know nothing about Russia and still think it is 1994 and nothing has changes since Yeltsin.
Maybe listen to people who are not basing their position on 30 year old cliches?
Facts are facts. That you need to resort to cliches and stereotypes and lies of omission says alot.
I am sorry if actual facts and actual history trigger you. That is a you problem.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Let's stop here. To me you are just licking a tyrant's boots.

@helenS That would be the claim if you know nothing about what is going on and just blindly accept the propaganda you are fed uncritically.
If reality doesn't fit your cold war cliches, sorry not sorry.
And you are the one who blindly supports a literal dictatorship because you are told to. Nothing you have said on this subject is correct.
