This has gone far beyond self defence. An outrage was committed on Israel in the first instance. Outrage upon outrage upon a outrage has been committed both in Gaza and the West Bank far out of proportion to the initial incident or the requirement of peaceful coexistence. Of course there are parties on both sides that do not want peaceful coexistence, but I don't believe that the world should stand by and pretend it's okay to slaughter the innocents wherever they are living.
