I got slaughtered the other day for suggesting exactly this in an attempt to make men responsible for their sexual conduct on another post.
I think the main objection was because (especially in America) nothing much is done free out of necessity.
It all comes at a cost. Because that's how they view non essential surgery.

@Picklebobble2 Never heard of condoms being banned but OK that could happen. Or there might not be a shop open etc.
Guy says to a woman let's have sex. She says I'd love to but I've got no form of birth control. Guy says come on let's risk it - obviously he's not going to get pregnant.
If she says OK let's do it who's responsible for her pregnancy?

@JonUK41 in that scenario they both are
JonUK41 · 36-40, M
@Picklebobble2 But they're not. The man won't get pregnant, the woman made a decision that she knew may result in her pregnancy. Her pregnancy not his. She should have said no.
Consider a bank. They have a vault containing all their cash. The only person that controls access to that vault is the bank manager. Nobody gets in the vault without their permission. The bank manager has had a long career to earn responsibility for controlling access to that vault.
Of course it's possible some criminals could demand access to the vault with threat of violence/shooting people. The manager would grant access on the basis that human life is worth more than the money in the vault, the bank would understand this. Nobody could blame the manager for allowing the vault to be robbed. The manager could legitimately say they were a survivor of a robbery as they avoided death/injury.
Now consider some sweet talker chatted up the manager and promised sex/romance if they were allowed in to the vault. The manager knew they shouldn't do it but gave into their urges and allowed access despite the obvious risk. The sweet talker robbed the vault. Nobody would defend the manager - they'd be fired for being an idiot.
Now replace bank vault with woman's vagina.

Dear god, dont go around telling men that they should just get a vasectomy bc theyre reversible. Theyre not, vasectomies are often permanent, and the likelihood of being able to reverse it goes down and down the older you get.
I agree with the point youre trying to make about abortion, and you dont need medical misinformation to do it.

I got one
of course it was my choice
the only thing that bugged me was that my doctor wouldn't perform the procedure unless my wife sat down met with us.
My body - my choice? not 100%

I like the post made in the wake of overturning Roe where the poster said, "Let's make buying a gun as hard as getting an abortion", including making the gun shops hundreds of miles from population centers, etc.

Sounds fine. It's a woman's decision whether she gets pregnant - obviously excluding rape.
If the woman wants to abort that's fine, she'd likely be a bad mother anyway so she's done the world a favour. If the woman wants to keep the child that's fine too. If the woman was raped and still wants to keep to keep the child that's fine.
Just don't come to the guy asking for money.

Don’t look at me. Not all men have a problem with it. 🤷♂

LOL, I suppose it is safe and effective?
SomeMichGuy · M
@Wireman Yes. Look it up.
If the passage of the sperm to exit no longer exists, they can't exit, so you can't have surprise pregnancies except in really rare cases. Contraception has known failure rates which are much higher.

@SomeMichGuy So it is mostly safe and usualy effective! Better than the other story!

@Wireman Exactly.

@SumKindaMunster This is not a serious post.
What's that, guys? Does the idea of someone forcefully regulating your body make you uncomfortable?
Yeah. It should.
So maybe let women mind their business and you mind your own :)

@SumKindaMunster well by your many comments to me recently, you seem to be watching me "jerk myself off" an awful lot at the moment. Bit odd, but each to their own.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@iamthe99 Of course, I am speaking metaphorically, which you knew, but yah, a homoerotic joke pretending that you took the joke at face value is a response I suppose.

A vasectomy is reversible? It's a crap shoot at best...
a vasectomy can be reversed through a surgical procedure called a vasectomy reversal, which reconnects the tubes that carry sperm. The success rates for this procedure can vary, typically ranging from 30% to over 90%, depending on various factors such as the time since the vasectomy and the surgeon's experience.
