Summary Of Trump's Oval Office Briefing

This is following his meeting with Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The briefing is still going, but I stopped watching. Here's what I summarized:

1. The deal with the UK is great and historic, because he's friends with Sean Connery, aka James Bond, and it's a comprehensive deal.

2. The world has been talking about a deal between the US and the UK for 25 years, since Brexit, but no one can do it and he made it happen now.

3. He loves Rolls Royce and Bentley and wants to help them. He's had many of them.

4. When he announced his tariffs on April 2nd, a bunch of car companies decided to build plants in the US, and in fact construction is under way.

Great news. Now, in reality...

Brexit was 5 years go, but what's 20 years between friends.

Sean Connery has been dead about 5 years also, and what does Sean Connery have to do with the trade deal.

The UK was somewhat a bit reserved, calling the deal a "framework" and the details will take a long time to iron out.

Who are these car companies building plants in the US, and how did they manage to:

1. Locate the land.
2. Negotiate a sale/lease agreement for the land/location.
3. Design the plant.
4. Hire a design firm to design the plant.
5. Finish the design and get internal approval and permits.
6. Hire people.
7. Start construction

All in about 4 weeks.

Also he said that grocery prices are down and things have been amazing. 😭 But whatever is not going right, is Biden's fault.

There was a list of all the promised new businesses that didn't materialize during his first circus.
This will be no different.
The rest? Delusional speech from a delusional individual.
He so wants a win. Any win.
Prepare for what he may do to think he might get one.

@Carla The part of the deal that was signed today, removes the 25% tariff on UK cars that he imposed on April 2nd and turns it into a 10% tariff.

Any guess what the tariff on UK cars in the year 2024?

If you guessed 10%, you would be right.

This briefing was inside the oval office, so all the reporters were hand selected, and of course not one of them asked this question:

"So, the tariff used to be 10% under Biden, and you raised it to 25%, and then you spent 108 days negotiating a deal that brought it back to 10%, right?"

@Northwest his cult and his sycophants will hail his deft negotiating skills.
They won't hear that the great deal was no real deal.
Trump wields tariffs like a weapon. I wouldn't trust anything that he has promised.

@Northwest And people wonder why the federal and UK civil services are so large . . thousands of hours of manpower are wasted negotiating face-saving charades such as this.
