How our laws surrounding self defense broken in light of domestic violence?

Well, men who batter and even women who batter their partners are ticking time bombs waiting to just murder suicide their partners.

Men are often so much stronger than women, too, that she doesn't really have a chance in a fair fight. So the only way to fight back against their abusers is to hit them when they're prone, they have to sleep sometime, you can always put two (bullets) in their skull while they're asleep.

But if you do that, what's broken about our self-defense statues is that you could not claim self-defense in that scenario. You'd go down for murder, and yet we know the moment he woke, he might finally snap and kill her. He might wait awhile, but she was only defending herself from a man who was already battering her, and it was only a matter of time before it escalated.

But you cannot claim self-defense under such a set of circumstances because they require that your life be in immediate danger and threatened with immediate death by the person you killed.

This is more than a little twisted. You might get no better opportunity to get rid of your abuser. And in truth, I read a stat that horrified me, but greater than 90 percent of incarcerated women reported having being battered. Perhaps this relied on self-reports so we're not 100% confident they're telling the truth but, I mean, quite a few of them have to be because the concentration of liars can't possibly be that high.

The people who wrote the laws surrounding self-defense were not, you know, Trauma informed, and did not have Domestic Violence on their minds at all when they wrote them, that just wasn't a consideration back when they were written.

What happened to Anita Ford was a Grave Injustice at the hands of the alleged justice system.

This is why all females should take self defense and both should take therapy.

People in large cities face more issues with domestics sadly.
