ICE terrorists kidnap two German teens on vacation in Hawaii

This happened a few weeks ago but didn't hear about this. Apparently they were on vacation, just visiting when they were kidnapped by ICE terrorists for no reason. They were taken to a deportation center, strip searched, placed in green prison uniforms and placed alongside people accused of serious crimes. They were deported to Japan.

@Khenpal1 You should tell the whole truth, they planned for 5 weeks and were jailed after admitting to working remotely for OTHER countries, not the US, so they didn't plan to work in the US illegally (remote work is online for anyone unfamiliar.) So they weren't working in the US, they already had remote jobs and planned to travel 5 weeks around US.

We do sometimes small freelance jobs online (like translating or design stuff, for customers back in Germany and sometimes also Asia, not the U.S.), and we mentioned that – which was maybe the biggest mistake. It was also in the e-mails that they accessed.

@SatanBurger I think the girls did 2 mistakes , first wrong visas and working from US soil, had they given another explanation it may have worked out.

@Khenpal1 Still, it's a little excessive and I advise tourists to not visit us lest they be sent to prison

A pair of German teenagers said they were turned away at the border in Honolulu last month because they were unable to present lodging confirmation to Customs and Border Protection officers, though the agency said they were turned away because they intended to perform work prohibited by their visas.

The incident was first reported by Ostsee-Zeitung, a major German daily newspaper.

According to the paper, Charlotte Pohl, 19, and Maria Lepere, 18, arrived in Honolulu without hotel reservations for their planned five-week stay on the island.Although both travelers had approval to travel to the U.S. from the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), that does not guarantee entry into the country.

Customs and Border Protection said officials acted properly based on the situation.

"These travelers were denied entry after attempting to enter the U.S. under false pretenses. One used a Visitor visa, the other the Visa Waiver Program," CBP Assistant Commissioner Hilton Beckham said in a statement. "Both claimed they were touring California but later admitted they intended to work – something strictly prohibited under U.S. immigration laws for these visas."

It's not unusual for arriving visitors, or even permanent U.S. residents or citizens, to have to attest to their accommodations at the border. Other countries similarly require proof of lodging, or at least an address, on entry paperwork at the border.Pohl and Lepere said they were handcuffed and given prison uniforms during their detention. They were reportedly held in a deportation detention facility in Hawaii overnight before being deported to Tokyo.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow That's crazy about your mother. I would have said that should be illegal to do to someone but seems like versions of ice terrorists around the world can do what they want if they don't like you

@trollslayer I would tell them that I've been a 30 year legal resident with no issues until now, why are you questioning me like I'm a Bond villain?
@trollslayer Yeah. Back then people who were born on Canadian military bases abroad were not automatically Canadian citizens. They were given citizenship of whatever country the military sent you to. In my mom's case it was Germany. I think she was 5 when my grandparents were sent back to Canada. Apparently when she turned 18 she was supposed to choose either Canadian or German citizenship. Of course nobody actually ever told her this.

Fast forward to my mom being 20 and marrying my dad who was also military and just stationed to Colorado Springs. US border patrol had no issue the first time they went down.

It was only after she came back from a 2 week Christmas visit with my Grandparents that they refused to let her join her husband in Colorado.....because reasons.

Took her a few months to get her Canadian citizenship sorted which even then I suspect was fast tracked because she was a base brat.

so a 2 week holiday turned into like 3 months moving back in with her parents all because a border guard wanted to be an ass.

As for these girls from German. I am curious did they say they told the border guards about the remote work or is that was the border guards are claiming they said after the fact. That was not really clear from what I read.

ICE officials are already stealing money from innocent suspects, so I wouldn't be surprised if they've expanded to strip searching pretty teenage girls.

I imagine the response will be: 'They're foreign, so who cares.' 😡
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@FreddieUK If those teens had gotten killed when placed with people accused of serious crimes, Germany would care. I thought about that too but if those tourists start getting killed off, that's an act of war.

@SatanBurger It's all so concerning, I agree. I believe Germany is already advising their citizens not to visit the USA. (Willing to be corrected if untrue)

@FreddieUK At least some German newspapers say it's not a good idea to visit America at the moment, as a tourist. 😐
What's happening in America?????

Wow. And they are even white!!
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@trollslayer Do we know that? I haven't seen the story myself.

Edited to correct important error of meaning.
@trollslayer And seeing as they were German and deported to Japan it seems like they are just shipping people off to literally random countries.

Like what is next? Ship Brits to Baghdad because there was a seat sale at Delta next time?
