ICE Scores Major Win for Border Security, Arresting 800 Illegals in Major Sting
Hold onto your hats, patriots, because ICE just conducted a massive operation in Florida that netted nearly 800 illegal immigrants – many with serious criminal backgrounds. “Operation Tidal Wave” lived up to its name, washing away hundreds of immigration law violators in just four days.
Operation ‘Tidal Wave’ Lives Up to Its Name
In a coordinated effort between federal and state authorities, ICE Miami partnered with Florida law enforcement agencies to arrest nearly 800 illegal immigrants. The operation utilized ICE’s 287(g) authority, which allows federal officials to deputize state and local law enforcement officers to help enforce federal immigration law.
“I think the main reason why this operation is significant is because it’s the first of its kind,” Todd Lyons, the acting ICE director, explained. “It’s one that not only we’ve been doing what we have, but we have surged all our federal partners together along with Homeland Security Investigations and Enforcement [and] Removal Operations, which are all the enforcement arms of ICE, but we’re also using all our 287(g) partners in the state of Florida.”
Among those swept up in the operation were some genuinely dangerous characters. Authorities nabbed Jose Sanchez Reyes, a Colombian national previously convicted of homicide in his home country. They also captured Rafael Juarez Cabrera, a Guatemalan national and alleged MS-13 member who had illegally reentered the U.S. three times despite a felony reentry conviction. Another catch was Savva Klishchevskii, a Russian national wanted in Russia for vehicular manslaughter.
These aren’t just “undocumented workers” looking for a better life – they’re convicted criminals who posed real threats to American communities. Even more encouraging, ICE officials reported that 275 of those arrested already had final orders of removal, meaning they can be deported quickly without lengthy legal proceedings.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis wasted no time celebrating the successful operation, calling it “an example of FL and [the Department of Homeland Security] partnering to deliver big results on immigration enforcement and deportations.”
“Florida is leading the nation in active cooperation with the Trump administration for immigration enforcement and deportation operations!” DeSantis added in a separate statement.
This partnership demonstrates what can happen when sanctuary city policies aren’t obstructing federal law enforcement. While progressive jurisdictions across the country have hamstrung ICE operations for years, Florida’s willingness to cooperate has yielded immediate results in removing criminal elements from American communities.
