Steve Bannon is calling for DOGE to be audited

Apparently no one knows what they're doing with the frozen funds nor what they found and Elon is walking back claims that he can save the US money. DOGE insider also speaks out.

Sounds like Musk has made a lot of enemies on Trump in er circle as well, including Steve Bannon, as they battled for who they thought Trump should hire.

Bannon has suggested, that Musk is more out to help himself, than himself... which has been clear, as Musk is just pushing his own products and his friends products.

But Musk promised he could save 2 trillion dollars

So far, he's claims he's been able to save $150 billion, but when they actually showed enough information that it could be audited in the past, the media consistently found major errors, decreasing the savings and they stopped providing so much information, so they couldn't be audited.

And one report suggest, while DOGE MIGHT have saved $150 billion, supposedly they ALSO caused an extra $135 billion to be spent... meaning the maximum net savings would only be 15 billion, and that's assuming Musk's numbers don't need to be adjusted downward again.

When they finally end it, I'm speculating that DOGE will cost the Americans more money than it saves... because that's ALMOST always how it ends with the government.

PLUS because they getting rid of the IRS employees whom are the ones that bring in the money, they'll be bringing in less money as more people take chances that they won't be audited, and the IRS has less employees to do the auditing and collecting of money.

@sstronaut Only around $61bn of those "savings" are itemised, and just $34bn evidenced by actual receipts. And the four largest savings claimed have either been exaggerated or the decision to terminate the contract was made by the previous administration.

The man is a complete fraud and, as you point out, a liability as his pruning of the IRS will further erode tax receipts.
@SunshineGirl Yeah, I caught on to one of his recent claims, was actually found and corrected about a decade ago.

I guess to save 15 million, they decided not to updated the system to stop those false claims from being claimed, BUT they stopped all money from going out on those false claims a decade ago...

And Musk is claiming he saved some 150 billion or something in claims, when there was $0 going out based on those for the past decade, they were just collecting the false claims... heck, that might be good for evidence to law enforcement.
