Harvard is suing the Trump administration for imposing conservative woke based conditions on Harvard's funding.

In the complaint, Harvard accused the administration of unlawfully freezing billions in research funding to pressure the University into restructuring its governance, academic programs, and hiring practices. It argued that the freeze violates the First Amendment by “imposing viewpoint-based conditions on Harvard’s funding."

I hope more colleges follow through, if they all got together and pooled money this would be ideal.

I hope Idaho fights back to recover its $59 million that was lawfully granted by Congress.

USDA abruptly halts $59 million grant to University of Idaho April 16, 2025

The University of Idaho took a gut punch earlier this week when the U.S. Department of Agriculture abruptly terminated a $59 million grant, which would have pumped money to Gem State farmers to boost the marketing of most of the crops grown there.

The grant, which was the largest in school history, was canceled in a message sent by the USDA on Sunday. By Monday morning, university officials informed 26 employees they no longer had jobs, said Sanford Eigenbrode, a university-distinguished professor at the UI College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.

“That’s how they came to work on Monday. It’s not like you have three weeks to close this down. It was, ‘You are done,’ ” Eigenbrode said.
@ElwoodBlues 59M grant to plant potatoes? Idaho is a red state, they are just getting what they voted for.
@independentone Yep. It'll be interesting to see if UI fights the cancellation.

Brown, other universities sue Department of Energy over research funding cuts April 14, 2025

Brown, eight other universities, the Association of American Universities, the American Council on Education and the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities filed a lawsuit Monday in an attempt to stop funding cuts by the U.S. Department of Energy.

MIT takes Trump to court over research cuts

The school, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, benefitted for decades from research advancements steered by John Trump, who engineered new tools to treat cancer through radiation therapy, according to the National Academy of Engineering.

Massive federal funding cuts proposed by his nephew's administration have prompted MIT to join two major lawsuits in recent months.

Cornell University has joined a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Energy and DOE Secretary Chris Wright, alleging cuts to its research grants are violating federal regulations. The Ithaca, N.Y.-based Ivy League school said it’s long engaged in research sponsored by federal agencies for studies that are critical to the U.S. economy and national security.

@ElwoodBlues I'm glad to see that. I actually hope it catches more businesses too. Trump is unlawfully doing these things, he needs more aggressive push back

I used to be one of those people who saw all that anti-DEI propaganda and reacted to it exactly how the elitists want us to, like, "Get that anti-God stuff out of our school!!! Get those aliens out of our country!!!" Now I see it for what it is. Trump is no different than any other politician, he is just as crooked, he just thinks he can play the game better than the rest. That is the only difference. He is the same power hungry politician as the rest of them, he just calls the kettle black first and runs with it.
