Keep your eyes on General John Bacon. I really never heard of him although we were contemporaries. We were never in the same Command and we were in different career paths.

But I reviewed his official Air Force Bio and he’s the real deal. He could be key with getting more moderate Republicans to stand up against this horrible failure of a regime.

"In my administration, I'm going to enforce all laws concerning the protection of classified information," — Candidate Donald J Trump, Aug. 16, 2016, West Bend, Wisconsin

"On political corruption, we are going to restore honor to our government. In my administration, I'm going to enforce all laws concerning the protection of classified information. No one will be above the law." — Candidate Donald J Trump, Aug. 18, 2016, Charlotte NC

"One of the first things we must do is to enforce all classification rules and to enforce all laws relating to the handling of classified information." — Candidate Donald J Trump, Sept 7, 2016, Philadelphia

"We also need the best protection of classified informmation" — Candidate Donald J Trump, Sept. 19, 2016

The real scandal here is that classified information is illegally given out by "intelligence" like candy. Very un-American! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 15, 2017

Hegseth should be the first and the sooner the better. It will give the Republicans the courage and thrill of finally doing their job. It won't let them off the hook though because they knew what they were getting when they originally confirmed him.
I hope he doesn't. The more instability MAGA creates, the faster it burns itself out, as fascist movements always do.

And the answer will be he's a terrible person who doesn't know anything 🤣
@Convivial I think you pretty well nailed that one!

But, well, being selected by tRUMP almost assures incompetence, insecurity, lack of principles, below average intelligence, and a pronounced fear of accepting personal responsibility…

(And I’m being nice…)

@whowasthatmaskedman I still say Vance is the lesser of the evils because nobody creams themselves over vance. Should Trump be removed from office (and he actually leaves) the friction between the bitter trump and vance will blow the whole thing up

@trollslayer I accept he is a different kind of evil. The quietermore organised, dare I use the word humble? But you will see American freedoms and legal protections disappear mach faster under "temporary" measures to put things right (for the right people) You will be much closer to the Handmaids Tale😷
@trollslayer Yes—that looks inevitable. It’s coming sooner and more visibly with Vance than it did with Pence. And hopefully with more volatility this time around. And Marco isn’t fitting in very well.

I still think the primer cap is Hegseth, though. He’s likely to blow at any second…

Frankly, the way tRUMP set up this entire misadministration, it seems that spectacular failure is almost assured.

It’s almost like he made a cabinet designed for “mutually assured destruction.”
