Apparently the US is paying El Salvador to keep immigrants

Including the wrongly deported one, that's why El Salvador won't send the person the US wrongly deported back nor let politicians go negotiate for their release. So not only are they stealing money with DOGE because let's be honest, those frozen funds are being moved to offshore bank accounts most likely but they're spending money we don't have bribing other countries to house immigrants. .

Absolutely he is paying El Salvador and that’s a good thing. If he didn’t, they would have to be housed in the United States and we would pay that price.

If they are willing to take them, why not?
The Trump administration has admitted over and over that the man from Maryland was not supposed to be sent to El Salvador
That doesn’t mean that he shouldn’t of been deported or put in prison More than one immigration charge said the evidence shows that he was a member of the MS 13 gang he was guilty of human trafficking
Do you really want a guy like that as a neighbor?

El Salvador is eradicating these gangs
BohoBabe · M
@missyann Paying a dictator to rent a concentration camp is a good thing? That is a choice.

So shipping off any undesirables to a concentration camp is okay with you? Even when 90% of all people sent there have zero criminal history?

And the Trump administration has over and over engaged in obstruction to defy the courts and keep them there.

And the MS13 thing was proven to be a total lie made up by Trump and company and debunked in a court of law.

He also lied about the Supreme Court ruling on the case.

You would believe anything Trump said and would never bother to verify anything.

El Salvador is a brutal dictatorship.

And sure. You can wipe out gangs if you imprison literally anyone who looks at you the wrong way and lock them in a dungeon forever.

El Salvador is now the largest penal colony in latin America.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@missyann We don't have to do it in the first place El Salvador said no gang members came back on that plane and the local gang that conservatives were pandering against were no longer in power since 2023.

Most of the people taken were here on work. Did they arrest some gang members? Probably but you can't say that it's by the 100s.

Gang members in the united states still deserve due process so i dunno why you're even bragging about that, taking away due process isn't even a flex but okay

@SatanBurger MS 13 has been legally designated as terrorist

Due process for terrorist in the United States is different than my due process for immigrants, who fail asylum and are ordered to be deported. Immigration judges, have looked at the evidence, and have said these people are members of the terrorist group. That evidence is not going to be released to the public because it would undermined security the gang members. Would know exactly how they are found.

Why would you want terrorist in our country to receive the same due process that American citizens would receive
Terrorist, or not entitled Would you like these people for neighbors ?

@missyann Repeating that lie doesn't make it true. And a gang is not a terrorist organization.

Now you are making excuses for taking away the rights of Americans. Figures.

And Immigration lawyers looked at his case and ordered he NOT be deported. The claim he was MS13 came from a single discredited CI who lied.

He claimed the man was a gang leader in a state he never set foot in.

Why are you in such a rush to have random Hispanic people declared terrorists?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@missyann You really don't know what you're talking about here. There have been numerous instances in which these people are denied due process, which as an American should concern you. All of these people we're concerned with are in the country legally, and a disturbingly high number of them have mitigating circumstances that have convinced me their only crime was looking too Hispanic for the president's liking. The gentleman with the autism awareness tattoo, for instance, which Trump mistook for a gang tattoo.

The fact that you think it's a good thing these people are denied due process disturbs me. You've already reached the conclusion that they absolutely are terrorists without any more evidence than the rest of us have, unless you work in the DOJ and didn't tell us. But I guess innocent until proven guilty is a dead concept in this country, and they can just sweep up anyone on suspicion and send them to an El Salvadorian death camp.

1. Why haven't white nationalist groups been designated as terrorist organizations? Fun fact, most homegrown domestic terrorism ARE by white nationalist groups, these are real statistics that can be seen and tracked. Their movement is tangible and real.

MS 13 is NOT a terrorist organization, terrorist group designations are meant for political violence.
Traditionally, the term terrorist group, applies to organizations who use violence to achieve political, religious, or ideological goals. Groups like Al-Qaeda, ISIS or certain white nationalist militias or general militias. They have certain political goals to subvert Government systems.

MS-13 while violent, operates more like a criminal enterprise: extortion, drug trafficking, human smuggling. Their motives are profit, power, and survival.. not ideology or politics. They are NOT an ideological driven group, they DON'T have end goals for politics except maybe within their gang.

Labeling them “terrorists” blurs that line especially when white nationalists DO have politically oriented goals and use domestic terrorism to achieve them all the time.

2. It opens a dangerous precedent

If we start designating non-ideological gangs as terrorist organizations, where does it stop? Again, wouldn't it therefore be okay to designate certain white supremacist militias the same? This would have to be fine with you.

3. Labeling ALL deportations as MS13 is dog whistle politics.

Trump did this mainly as an excuse, anyone fleeing from gangs for their own survival can now be labeled as a gang member. MS13 is being used a boogeyman for human rights violations.

4. Due process is to ensure that people's individual cases are heard as situations vary, if we didn't have due process, you could get publicly executed for just any old thing. Why would you want that? That's crazy to me. The only way to ensure checks and balances is due process.

For the fact I even have to explain why the constitution says PERSONS should have due process and not citizens and why you don't seem to understand that is wild.

@missyann so taking our factories to Mexico and making cars there okay. Taking our jails there NOT okay ? It’s about saving money right. (I know El Salvador isn’t Mexico but you get the point ).
@AthrillatheHunt El Salvador is a dictatorship running a concentration camp and legal black hole. Big difference.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow it’s just another form of outsourcing. I was against NAFTA and I’m against this too. But El Salvador is not a dictatorship dude. Just opportunists .

@AthrillatheHunt N. Korea is called The Democratic People's Republic of Korea....not exactly the bastion of democracy and personal freedoms.

The Republic of El Salvador is run by an authoritarian.

Trump loves authoritarians and sees himself as one.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@JSul3 Agreed on Orange loving Authoritarian Figures and considers himself one .
@AthrillatheHunt El Salvador is absoultely a dictatorship and Bukele brags about it. The man is proud of the fact that he is a dictator.
missyann · 56-60
@AthrillatheHunt I believe that it is wrong to take any factory out of the United States, especially to country, who forced children to work and pay slave wages

missyann · 56-60
@BohoBabe BLM and Tesla fire bombers are good outstanding citizens, who have not created any havoc or have not destroyed any property

Whose authority you think they will accept? Which judge is allowed to say that evidence shows that someone is an MS 13 gang member?
BohoBabe · M
@missyann So civil rights movements and petty vandalism is worthy of stripping people of their rights and shipping them off to a concentration camp? Doubt even the Nazis went that far.
