A stated primary reason for high tariffs on China was national security -- rebuilding IT manufacturing in the U.S., and providing our own R&D efforts in new IT. Apparently no one anticipated what that would do to the smartphone and social media IV's that so many MAGA supporters run on, so today IT is exempt from tariffs?
