I launched my own Norfolk Tariff Scheme back in ’08. Tried to put a 15% surcharge on all Lincolnshire sausages entering Dereham. Result? Diplomatic incident at a carvery. Two ambulances. One cold Yorkshire pudding.
“Jobs and factories will come roaring back into our country, and you see it happening already,” Tяump, “Liberation Day” address, April 2, 2025.
Seems a week of that kind of "roaring" was all that we could handle🤣😂
On a more serious note, Tяump imposed tariffs to foster industrial growth, And he's preserved tariffs in certain areas. Not in electronics, not in chips or computers or smartphones. Apparently Tяump doesn't want those industries to thrive inside our borders. So what industries is he attempting to promote?
Clothing manufacture? Furniture and bedding? Injection molded plastic toys? Seriously folks, these are the industries Tяump is trying to bring "roaring back"!!
@TirAsleen China has banned the export of several critical elements, including rare earths, gallium, germanium, and antimony, to the United States. This interferes with our ability to manufacture a number of high tech products.
@sunsporter1649 So you think "globalists" accusing Tяump of bullying is what made him fold on tariffs?? Seriously, dude!!!
I still consider them a positive effect but that's coming at it from an economic standpoint.
Your home country of Gibraltar is a 10% tariff on all imported goods. So has your pot doing calling the kettle black and you've had that 10% tariff since 2020.
I still consider them a positive effect but that's coming at it from an economic standpoint.
Is there actually an economist that isn't working for the Trump white house, that considers the tariffs having a positive effect from an economic standpoint? Or does it just "feel" good for you, and you had to add "economic standpoint" to sound more intelligent?
@nudistsueaz No, I have trusted the White House right up to about the end of February this year. I even believed most of what was coming out of the WH during Trump's first term.
