Hilarious Trump market manipulation reaches anew height

I wonder when he closed his shotrs and opened longs.....

Here's his Truth Social statement in full:
"Based on the lack of respect that China has shown to the World’s Markets, I am hereby raising the Tariff charged to China by the United States of America to 125%, effective immediately.
At some point, hopefully in the near future, China will realize that the days of ripping off the U.S.A., and other Countries, is no longer sustainable or acceptable.
"Conversely, and based on the fact that more than 75 Countries have called Representatives of the United States, including the Departments of Commerce, Treasury, and the USTR, to negotiate a solution to the subjects being discussed relative to Trade, Trade Barriers, Tariffs, Currency Manipulation, and Non Monetary Tariffs, and that these Countries have not, at my strong suggestion, retaliated in any way, shape, or form against the United States, I have authorized a 90 day PAUSE, and a substantially lowered Reciprocal Tariff during this period, of 10%, also effective immediately. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
We are continuing to decipher the specifics of Trump's announcement, stick with us for the latest.

Folded like an origami swan. This is what happens when you get out of your depth.

@UBotMate Did he fold or was this his plan all along. Hes got the western economies begging but he hasnt kept it so bad for so long that they defect to China, and hes fgot his traiff war with China and can blame them for it. I think that looks like a positive comporomise for him. I think hes got what he aimed for in this round. Hes signalled we'll be back here again in 3 months...
@Captain Well, I'm skeptical about the claims of 70+ countries begging for a deal because we have no evidence of that and Trump is known for inflating the truth or outright lying. I believe that he was fully intent on holding his position but the markets have abandoned him and he's folded. He'll claim a victory either way, as he always does.

@Captain Thats like saying "Does Jack plan this, or make it up as he goes along ?". One of the great lines form "Pirates". Only he will know, but the fact that he says these things and sometimes drops them rapidly tells me he hears something, has a reacitonm, and then evaluates it for strategic value and speaks. SO my guess is he was briefed about the tariffs and decided to retaliate having several contingncies already taken or in mind. He has actually said he's winding back tariffs for 3 months only (strategic) and only because some economies have not realitated (so why did he wind them back onthe whole of Europe ???). That shows a strategic plan with a set of contingencies followed up and still to follow up. So yes, I think he's halfway between planning it and making it up as he goes along. To be fair that's what chess players do. It's just they dont think with their gonads.

@UBotMate And we'll never know of course because he's barely capable of writing anyway.
@Captain The big problem that he's got is that there isn't enough confidence in him for the markets to stay stable. Everyone pretty much expects that he'll flip flop at the drop of a hat. The tariffs could be back in place tomorrow for all we know. He's too unpredictable and businesses are already making very conservative decisions as a result of that unpredictability, which will result in a real hesitance to invest. He may have a plan but there is not enough confidence that he does or that it will work out.
Captain · 61-69, M
@UBotMate Its not just unpredictability. its the extreme nature of his decisions. He has created mayhem in the last few days.
Briggett · T
@UBotMate he playing by ear. He put 90 days out as a feeler, trying to stall until sometime between the Fourth of July and Labor Day. If measles doesn’t spread before then
Captain · 61-69, M
@Briggett I dont see this as a subtle move. 90 days and he'll come back asking for more again. I am sure of that.

The plan has essentially isolated China. All of the countries that for some reason previously bought the inferior products they did from China are now aligned together against the nogoodniks. @UBotMate @Captain @Briggett
Captain · 61-69, M
@isthisafakeprofile ? The chinese products I have bought have always been good. That's the frightening part.
isthisafakeprofile · 61-69, M
But for how long? Close your temu account asap. @Captain
Captain · 61-69, M
@isthisafakeprofile LOL - my oppo has lasted longer than any previous phone.
Captain · 61-69, M
@isthisafakeprofile How many chinese made planes have fallen out of the sky ?
Captain · 61-69, M
@isthisafakeprofile Most companies use or had used Lenovo laptops which lasted a lot longer than the software loaded on them - which always eventually went wrong.
Captain · 61-69, M
Do you want me to go on ?
Captain · 61-69, M
@isthisafakeprofile Do you want me to go on or are you depressed yet ? Same thing in the 80s when Japan and then Korea moved in on the market.
Briggett · T
@Captain china’s recalculation their position with the rest of world.
Just don’t default on interest payments now and in the future.
Captain · 61-69, M
@Briggett Yes deflation cojld be on the horizon.
