Nope. All generations in all of history have thought that doom is impending, for this reason or that reason. The truth is that the level of fear of impending doom is always irrationally greater than the chance of it, especially in times when doom is NOT impending.

I'm convinced that we're incapable of predicting the end of something good or the beginning of something bad; so we may as well not worry about it.
