He considers empathy a weakness of western cultures, I recently read.

More pointedly, he talked of suicidal empathy (too much). Obviously, he thinks there is too much in US policy.

Interestingly, the Chief Presecutot at the Nuremburg trials said LACK of empathy was the one common trait of the fascists he prosecuted.
