Time for Hollywood to turn against Moscow, for good.

For too long, mainstream movies and series have shied away from taking a clear stand on the issue of an aggressive, dangerous and evil Russia.
In the past, Hollywood produced many movies that cinematically captured the geopolitical moment of their time. Anti-German ones amidst the carnage of World War II, anti-communist ones during the early phase of the Cold War.
It is time to wake up and realize that the post-Cold War treatment of Russia in Hollywood, portraying the country as a weak and bumbling - but nevertheless meaningful or cooperative nation is out of date.
It is time for Hollywood to step up and inform, educate, enlighten and sharpen a narrative around the struggle the West finds itself in today.
There‘s no room to take account of some viewers dovish or isolationist sensibilities, nor was there any in the 1940s or the 1950s and 60s.

I don't think that Hollywood was very good at portraying Russia at any period during the 75years of my life. While the USSR, the country murdered untold millions of their own people. Consult Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, and many other sources. The continuing sympathy and denial of Hollywood were fixtures in the headlines during those years.
What this country is in need of is agreement of what is right and wrong, and a commitment to act in a manner consistent with this agreement.

@MarthannBann888 I can recommend some movies that were pretty decent in that context, Long Way Back and 5 Days of War. But generally, you‘re right. Hollywood was only too glad to push Détente.

i really don't think history and public policy are their strong points. Maybe they can stick to movies:)

Maybe they don’t want to be poisoned by Putin’s goons.

@Bumbles Maybe the US has counter-intelligence operatives for a reason. Maybe it‘s time for certain people in Moscow to wonder how much time they‘ve left.

@CedricH The current US government is pro-Putin.

@Bumbles You don’t say… elected by the American people… perhaps if the American people had a clearer image of Russia, they wouldn’t have voted for him and his even more Russophile Vice President.
