Luigi Mangione

Our only true revolutionary of the last, well, who knows how long. He didn’t sit back and let the system destroy the lives of the innocent. He did what most of us are too scared to do. He fought back. Luigi showed us that we don’t have to accept this. We don’t have to live in a world where healthcare is a commodity. He's what all men should aspire to be like. I think it's crazy that more hasn't erupted from this yet.

Now I would have to disagree. I accept that aggression needs to be more used by women. Yet outright violence is chauvinist as well. It's almost expected from men.

@DeWayfarer Violence is a symptom of a deeper disease, a system that teaches us to accept oppression as normal. That’s why we need people willing to make noise, even when it feels uncomfortable. And yes of course women are just as capable of acting in the face of injustice and I wish there were more willing to, myself included.

@Eglectic there's many ways to react to injustice. Violence is just as injust in most cases.

Yes there's a time for violence... when the injustice is actually imminent!

Not for prolonged issues though. That takes time a patience.

@DeWayfarer Maybe that’s the problem right there. We’ve been conditioned to think of injustice as something that’s right in front of us, that violence only becomes acceptable when it’s already too late, when the system has already crushed us into the dirt. If the system was ever going to change because of our patience, it would have happened decades ago.

@Eglectic look at the life of Martin Luther King! And ask yourself was he violent?

The reverse case with Malcolm X as never successful! It's hardly even known that he fought.
Eglectic · 36-40, FNew
@DeWayfarer Whether you're peaceful or aggressive, the moment you become a real threat to the system, they take you out. The system didn’t grant civil rights, it was forced to concede, kicking and screaming the entire way.

@Eglectic who won in the above in the end?
Eglectic · 36-40, FNew
@DeWayfarer If you ask me the fight is still ongoing.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Eglectic yes but different issues. Who won the majority of his main issues and who didn't win anything at all.
Eglectic · 36-40, FNew
@DeWayfarer Evolved issues. The same oppression, just wearing a different mask. They just found new ways to keep the same groups down.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Eglectic that struggle will never end. Yet little bit by little bit it changes.

Two or three steps forward, to one step backwards, is one or two steps forward. Which is progressive.

Zero steps forward leading to even more steps backwards is recessive.

The latter is what happens with violence.
