More Lumber Jack Jobs Maybe Coming

https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/03/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-rapidly-expands-timber-production/

Not only in Oregon but other states as well.
The Pros
It will replace a few of the jobs he has taken from others, definitely cut down on forest fires in some places.

The Cons
Less refuge for wildlife, unprotected endangered species of trees, and it's good the world has plenty of trees without them there would be no oxygen. But that's for the next generation to worry about it seems.

1. The logging industry REPLACES old growth timber trees with new healthier seedlings. Professional timber companies made recycling a science generations ago. There are more trees in the United States today than there were 100 years ago.

2. Healthier seedlings are more efficient in the photosynthesis that produces oxygen.

3. Old growth trees are what causes forest fires.

4. Most of the photosynthetic activity that produces breathable oxygen for Homo Sape is done by algae in the world's OCEANS, which make up 70 percent of the surface of the earth.

5. Took jobs away from others? Maybe in some Disney fantasy land, but in the real world PRESIDENT TRUMP has brought real jobs BACK.
https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/03/manufacturing-is-roaring-back-under-president-donald-j-trump/

“In one month under President Trump, the American economy is soaring back to greatness after the economic calamity left by Joe Biden. The manufacturing industry is already rebounding as there were 9,000 new auto jobs created — the most auto jobs added in 15 months! Under President Trump, the private sector is leading the way — 93% of the job gains in February were in the private sector. This is great news for American workers and families. The Trump Administration will continue to work hard to implement pro-growth policies and push Congress to enact the Trump Economic Agenda.” — Karoline Leavitt, White House Press Secretary

What has DOGE cut?

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/wasteful-dangerous-doges-top-5-most-shocking-revelations

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), inspired by DOGE's crackdown on federal spending, said it had located $20 billion in tax dollars within the agency that the Biden administration reportedly "knew they were wasting."An extremely disturbing video circulated two months ago, featuring a Biden EPA political appointee talking about how they were ‘tossing gold bars off the Titanic,’ rushing to get billions of your tax dollars out the door before Inauguration Day," EPA administrator Lee Zeldin said in a video posted to X on Wednesday, citing another video from December.

The EPA found that just eight agencies were controlling the distribution of tens of billions of taxpayer dollars to different entities "at their discretion," such as the Climate United Fund, which reportedly received just under $7 billion.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the government's leading disaster-relief arm, gave over $59 million to house illegal immigrants in luxury New York City hotels just last week, DOGE uncovered."FEMA spent tens of millions of dollars in Democrat areas, disobeying orders, but left the people of North Carolina high and dry. It is now under review and investigation," the president declared.

The Pentagon’s $850 billion budget could be next up on the bureaucratic chopping block. Fox News Digital reported this week accusations of waste and inefficiency within the U.S.’s largest discretionary budget.

The Defense Business Board found in 2015 that the Department of Defense could save $125 billion over five years by renegotiating service contracts and consolidating bureaucratic processes.

Ernst highlighted that the agency "authorized a whopping $20 million to create a ‘Sesame Street’ in Iraq."

People responsible for this kind of waste of tax dollars SHOULD lose their jobs.

@Reason10 how many years does it take saplings to grow to an efficient size?

How many forest fires destroys thousands of acres in this country alone?

The US has more trees than it's used to? Reports vary so one can use whatever report they choose that sides with their statement.

A small percentage more than 70 years ago and a small area

https://blog.tentree.com/fact-check-are-there-really-more-trees-today-than-100-years-ago/

Us is losing trees not gaining

https://www.ncesc.com/geographic-faq/is-the-us-gaining-or-losing-trees/

And there are some government spending that should be eliminated and some should not.

When you cleaning house start with your own and stop spending millions, 18 million at last report on 3 months of golf trips. And they're not going to report all personal spendings.

And I found that some of the things that they said is grossly over exaggerated and some down out right wrong.

Please continue to support whom you choose.

@Charity Legitimate questions. I'll take them one at a time.

One of the reasons America (and we're just talking the United States) has more trees than it did 100 years ago is because of the advances we've made in fighting forest fires. (Idiots in California notwithstanding.) Also included in the reasons are conservation and movement of population.

Nope. The numbers don't lie.

A couple of things:
1. America has more trees because of competent and scientific forest management. Before the science of forestry, entire forests could be lost through a lightning strike on a tree after an extended drought. Forest management sometimes means controlled burns, to get rid of highly flammable scrub growth. Florida has one of the most advanced forest management programs in the country.

2. I will admit that the United States just might be the ONLY example in the world of responsible forest management. Yes, there are JUNGLES in South America where rampant clear cutting is taking place, either from local indigenous tribes consuming the trees for fuel or maybe international logging businesses seeing a cheap virgin plot of land to chop up. (Notice I said JUNGLES. Some idiots call these "rain forests" which is about as wrong as it gets. South American jungles contain some of the most dangerous creatures on the earth and would not be confused with a simple, idllic "forest," for Winnie The Pooh.") EnviroNazis have to call them "rain forests" because it's hard to fund raise for JUNGLES.

3. If you want to see a prime example of bad management of forests, you need look no further than the shithole of Haiti. Those people clear cut their own forests, mostly for heating and cooking fuel. Because of that, simple tropical rains turn that place into a giant lethal mud slide. I single out Haiti, because there are other islands in the Caribbean (I've actually been to Jamaica) where parts of that country remind me of West Virginia, with the lush forests and mountains. Montego Bay actually reminds me of Charleston, West Virginia.

I actually agree with that observation. Can't stick Trump with the golf trip thing because (a) he doesn't take a presidential salary (b) he pays for his own golf trips, and (c) he OWNS the finest golf courses in Florida. (Mar A Lago.) I'm pretty sure he can get a tee time without spending a penny of taxpayer dollars.

Of course, the MILLIONS spent on Sesame Street in Iran should instantly be stopped. DOGE is finding waste everywhere. I would think that Democrats like you would cheer when Elon announced that DOGE would be looking at the Pentagon for fraud and waste. Elon doesn't care where he finds it. And we both know there is plenty of fraud and waste in the Pentagon, just like there is in the Department Of Education.

America has turned into a shaggy hippie and Elon Musk is the long awaited HAIRCUT.
(to use Sixties pop culture.)

@Reason10
He doesn't take a salary and his salary doesn't add up to $18 million dollars in 3 months and no he does not pay for his golfing trips, taxpayers money pay for his golfing trips and it doesn't matter whether it's on his property or not he still has to get there and use Air Force One and secret service.

A sitting president gets paid around 400,000 a year. 1600,000 in 4 years compare that to millions spent on golfing in 4 years
And he's gotten off to a darn good start.

@Charity I haven't seen any reliable news source claiming Trump got18 million in golf trips. There are a lot of I HATE TRUMP sites out there. I would trust their honesty like I would trust KKKlinton at a battered women's shelter.
