Any UK/EU military support for Ukrainian hostility will be treated as an attack on the US and Russia. This will put an end to the Ukraine war. There is no way for any military confrontation against two nuclear superpowers.

Authoritarian? China is indeed authoritarian. It's the authority of the people. The imposition of social order provides security for every individual regardless of net worth. There is no barrier to acquisition of wealth but the wealthy don't get to push the less fortunate around. In China, there are neither obnoxious celebrities nor hotshot public figures of the kind you suffer in America.
There are neither Ukrainians nor Russians. There are just people of different cultural shades and they don't like each other. It's the same here in the US as reflected by the division in the recent Joint Session of Congress. The woke left is suffering now under the domination of the Trump right. The hatred is palpable. Just because there is no widespread outbreak of violence in America doesn't mean you are better off than people in Ukraine bearing the brunt of war. The not woke wish the woke are dead and vice versa.
You don't have to tell them in so many words. Your attitude says it. You have no idea how loathsome you are to people in foreign lands.
Russia isn't communist anymore, but it's still authoritarian. Same for China. How long have Putin and Xi been in power? And that's what you want for the US - for Trump to stay in office indefinitely.

I am sure the Chinese have their favorite pop artistes but they share the social rank of street performers and prostitutes. Only in America are pop and movie stars adored, elevated to high society, and command a following powerful enough to wield political influence.
