I was interested to find out what my Ukrainian friends feel.

I didn't want to ask them because that would taint my example. Instead I looked on their facebook pages. Fortunately my computer was able to translate Ukrainian to English. Without exception the ex pat Ukrainians that I have come to know are rejoicing that Trump thumped Zelensky.

Trump is still like a bratty five year old that needs his lights punched out but no one is willing to because it would be considered child abuse to do such a thing.

@justanothername Maybe if you actually watched the entire 40 minutes you would come to a completely different point of view. The obnoxious twit from the start was the comedian from Crimea.

@justanothername Zelenskyy keeps asking for nukes. He wants to start world war 3. I hope some one takes him out. He is the one that started the war.

@justanothername Senator Rand Paul asked Sleepy's Special Envoy to the Ukraine:

"Is there Bio-Labs in Ukraine"

Her reply SHOULD have been:

"If America finds any Bio-Labs anywhere on the Planet, we'll bomb them out of existence"

Her ACTUAL reply:

"We are working closely with the Ukrainian Government to keep Bio-Lab reaearch out of the hands of Russia"

Her reply answers your query ... 😎😎😎

@22Michelle Are we talking about the US that walked away from its nuclear agreements with Russia under Clinton and Bush????
22Michelle · 70-79, T
@hippyjoe1955 So your point is the USA has never been a trustworthy state?
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@22Michelle How many wars has the US started since 1945? There is an old saying among the diplomats. Being an enemy of the US is dangerous. Being a friend of the US is deadly.
22Michelle · 70-79, T
@hippyjoe1955 And the same old saying is true of Russia.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@22Michelle What wars has Russia started and if you say the one in Ukraine I am going to laugh at you.
22Michelle · 70-79, T
@hippyjoe1955 Depends on what you mean by war. The Soviets invaded Finland. They carved up Poland with Nazi Germany. The Soviets occupied Eastern Europe after WW2. They installed puppet Governments they could control. And if that control was threatened we saw what happened in Hungary and Czechoslovakia. And, are you discounting Afghanistan?
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@22Michelle The Soviet Union does not exist any more. It was never just Russia. Stalin was not even Russian. Stalin was Georgian.
22Michelle · 70-79, T
@hippyjoe1955 And if you think Rusdia and the Soviet Union are different countries you are extremely naive. Russia under the Tsars was an Empire. Under the Soviets it remained an Empire looking to expand. And Russia under Putin is a much reduced Empire wanting to reclaim its "lost" lands.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@22Michelle Ever heard of Poland? How about Roumania? How about Georgia? How about Ukraine? How about Tajikistan? They were all part of the Soviet Union. They are not now part of Russia. If those republics which were once part of the USSR are no longer under Russia's control then....... Logic is not your forte is it.
22Michelle · 70-79, T
@hippyjoe1955 And if not stopped Putin will be reclaiming control over all those territories. If nothing else Putin would have the Warsaw Pact re-established. Empires expand or die.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@22Michelle Yawn. I suppose you are unaware of the votes that were held in Eastern Ukraine where the people expressed the desire to join Russia. That was in large part the result of Western Ukraine shelling the east and killing thousands of Ukrainians in the process. The most common expression among the eastern Ukrainians when Putin took military action was "What took you so long". There is so much more to this conflict than the simple minded "Russia Bad" that infests your mind.
22Michelle · 70-79, T
@hippyjoe1955 You are assuming a lot of dodgy ingormstion there. As with the seizure of Crimea the votes were held after Russia took control and there's evidence of Russian troops voting. And also many Ukranians who had been driven out weren't there to vote. If there were to be an open vote involving only the inhabitants orior to the Russian invasion then the result could be respected. Has Putin ever offered such a referendum?
I'm now off for a late supper, a glaas of wine and I'm also on a promise so nighty night.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@22Michelle Not dodgy at all. The votes had international supervision. So lets look at things this way. Here in Alberta we have been economically destroyed by Ottawa several times. If Albertans held a vote and said they wanted to leave Canada and join the US. Should the US stand idly by as the rest of Canada bombed Alberta?
