Now THIS is a legal immigration plan we can get behind

Trump to introduce 'gold card' visa for wealthy investors with $5 million price tag: 'Route to citizenship'

The U.S. currently offers a similar opportunity through the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program, which was established in 1990 and is administered by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). According to USCIS's website, the visa is open to investors who "make the necessary investment in a commercial enterprise in the United States," as well as "plan to create or preserve 10 permanent full-time jobs for qualified U.S. workers."

But Trump's recent suggestion would replace the EB-5 program, and instead, the Republican president plans to propose a "gold card" visa to the tune of $5 million.

"We are going to be selling a gold card," Trump explained to reporters. "We are going to be putting a price on that card of about $5 million."

"It's going to give you green card privileges, plus it's going to be a route to (American) citizenship, and wealthy people would be coming into our country by buying this card," the president continued.

This is brilliant. Let me count the ways.

1. ONE BILLIONAIRE spends $5 million to come here. That's 5 million a pop that goes into the Treasury.

2. Gee! I wonder how much money THESE scholars paid to violate our borders?
All they bring is more hands held out for a welfare check, human trafficking and fentanyl.

3. Liberals, try to follow the math here. (Yeah, we know. Math was never your strong suit.)

Ten billionaires take advantage of this card. That's FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS added to our Treasury, instead of fifty BILLION given out in WELFARE to those animals.

Ten billionaires here are suddenly paying American INCOME TAXES and creating American jobs. Their presence ADDS to the Treasury as well as to the economy.

Tell me again the down side.

Billionaires actually paying income tax? 🤔

The achievers just pay accountants to shelter their income, and ship money overseas. Businesses ship their manufacturing plants overseas.

@Reason10 Well thank you for clearing that one up. I didn't realise there was a gentlemens agreement between the Republican administration and the "wealth management" industry 🙂 I guess you have more honest accountants there than here. Ours just shovel the whole lot into offshore accounts.

@Reason10 The president's tax returns show he paid just $750 in federal income taxes each year in 2016 and 2017 and paid nothing at all for many years before that,
