DEI must die: All federal employees need to explain their work immediately — or be fired!

Government employees will have to share what they’ve been working on in the last week or face dismissal, Elon Musk said Saturday.

The President signed an executive order last Tuesday for agencies to work with DOGE to make “preparations to initiate large-scale reductions in force.”

More firings are on the way: The Pentagon announced Friday its plans to fire 5,400 employees, and other agencies have also indicated they’re continuing to look for cuts.

A scorched-earth policy is a military strategy of destroying everything that allows an enemy military force to be able to fight a war, including the deprivation and destruction of water, food, humans, animals, plants and any kind of tools and infrastructure. The woke must go.

That sounds like it would be a war crime. Which, obviously, is the least of the problems with these attacks on the country by its own President, but still.

How is it a war crime, Misty?
@sree251 I dont know if it actually would be, but scorched earth warfare sounds like it would be hell on civilian populations, burning down crops and stuff.

In the instant case, we're talking about destroying the capability of the government to function by indiscrimately killing off employees with experience from jobs like Air Traffic and Nuclear Security, but the result, decimating the country's ability to function, seems pretty similar. Of course, the Reich really ought to still focus on making sure there's no possibility of resistance at the ballot box as well, but I assume that's coming.

@sunsporter1649 Yeah, I know, it could just be sloppy incompetence coming from folks with the mental capacity of the Kool Aid set, but I didn't want to go there.

Don't take "scorched earth" literally. What is implied is thoroughness on the part of Doge. In the case of the US Postal Service, it can literally be scraped and our needs are better met by Amazon, DHS, UPS and Fedex.

This is not the case. Doge does not work like the federal government you are used to. Musk runs SpaceX. He has companies hiring thousands of rocket engineers dealing with operations more exacting and demanding than handling air traffic at airports.

Oh, definitely. I think the ballot box should be scrapped. Musk has the know-how to modernize our electoral system. If the global financial system can handle the movement of funds to the tune of trillions of dollars, I don't see why we can't vote in the same manner we zelle money from our bank account to one another? Do you use zelle?
@sree251 A lawful, studied and surgical effort to cut wasteful government spending doesn't seem to be what's happening here, though.

I get that Congress is inefficient, and that a Supreme Executive not answerable to it or the Courts might be able to do things cheaper and faster,

But I don't like the idea of privatizing stuff like the postal service, or not having any checks or balances on conflicts of interest.

Just my two cents, and obviously, Trump voters are smart enough to know what they were voting for.

Trump ALSO fired hundreds of National Nuclear Safety Administration employees. Now he's trying to hire them back.

Trump ALSO fired USDA scientists working to fight bird flu. He's also trying to re-hire them.

What kind of efficiency is that, when you fire hundreds of people, delete their email accounts, and then struggle to contact them so you can try to re-hire them? Dept of Efficiency my foot!!

I checked your link. They are all hype. If my life depended on who can make the right call, I would pick Musk over you anytime.

Woody specializes in adding irrelevant links hoping no one will read them. Fortunately we are all not like Woody. Woody, why don’t you READ completely some ACCURATE COMMON SENSE links for a change and stop trying to push your false agenda? @sree251
@jackjjackson Yeah, I guess I should have said I dont mind privatizing the post office IF it's done right and not just so that Trump can award the contracts in exchange for donations and support.

False dichotomy. I presented data from several news organizations. You are denying three different groups of firings that the US gov't is trying to unwind. A very inefficient process. And you didn't follow the links.

There are a lot of PO pros and cons. For you and me mailing a relatively small package is way cheaper using the PO. That’s why Poshmark uses it. Of course that’s because it’s government subsidized and so is all that junk mail. Is subsidized junk mail really the best place for our tax dollars? As time passes I am getting more inclined to favor a consumption tax so a least for many things WE get to decide how much tax we pay. The Uber rich that uber buy will pay more than they do now. What are your thoughts on that? Maybe necessities like food and gas and power and water should be exempted to a threshold so that again the uber users pay for being uber users. @MistyCee

@MistyCee The entire Adolf Biden regime (and it bringing the world closer than ever before to WWIII, after inheriting world peace) was a war crime.

Tesla’s Model Y and Model 3 remained the best-selling EVs in the US in 2024 by a wide margin, accounting for over 40% of total sales.
@jackjjackson I'd have to study a consumption tax. At first glance, I'm not sure it'd be all that different from a sales tax.
Reason10 · 70-79, M
@MistyCee Truthfully, once DOGE ferrets out the fraud and waste in government, it would be a good idea to overturn the 16th Amendment, and Title 26 of the U.S. Code. A national sales tax would be all the country needs to fund the legitimate functions of government. It also would e indexed to the economy. If the economy sinks, revenues will be less and spending will have to be less.
@Reason10 Do you think Trump has the political capital at this point to repeal income tax, or is he going to overrule it himself?

I dont see the first happening in the next 4 years.
@jackjjackson Remind me, who sets the post office rates? Oh, right, Congress does that. So if the PO loses money, and needs subsidies, that's the choice of Congress.
Reason10 · 70-79, M
@MistyCee Repealing the income tax would involve overturning the 16th Amendment. It would also involve getting rid of Title 26 of the US Code.

The Rush Limbaugh in me would LOVE to see that happen, but (a) it won't happen with a Trump executive order, and (b) I don't see enough Republicans in Congress wanting to hold a constitutional convention to overturn that amendment. Last time that happened was Prohibition's repeal.

It would be the best thing ever to happen to America, but DemoNazis need the income tax to buy favors from business. So you know those goose steppers won't vote to lose so much power.
@Reason10 says
overturning the 16th Amendment.
DUUUDE!! tRump has already overturned the 14th!!

Ah! THERE'S your problem🤣😂
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@ElwoodBlues And just how was the 14th overturned?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
