Do u believe that Canada can beat the US in a war ? 🪖

A guy at work tried to tell me that they actually can. He claimed that since we lost our power and associations with NATO and the UN that would be our main issue. And he also added that our allies would not assist us in a ground or air type combat simply because Canada is not really a world threat and that they are our neighbors. He said something about a missile that they have that could disappear and reappear at will. Im thinking to myself, this guy clearly does not know about our secret operations programs. And our underground unit in Area 51.
I heard that they have some stuff there that could wipe any country off the map with ease. And that coming from a military guy I know here on the water. Anyway, what do you think. Could Canada really beat the US in an all out war. Any style. Comments please.
Let the chips fall where they may. Best answer wins. ☺

Ultimately no. The US is great at shock and awe that looks good on Tik Tok and Youtube for a few weeks and then lose every insurgency they have fought in modern history.

Plus. What Americans call "arctic warfare' is spring weather here in prairies.

Alaska, ND, and MN are probably the only states that could field troops that can actually fight in the cold.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow One thing - yeah Canada is pretty cold BUT I imagine American troops would rather be in a decent place like Canada instead of the middle east where camels get nervous every time the men feel romantic.

Serious cold though is nothing to mess with and it is true - most Americans are just not used to the cold climate that Canadians barely notice.
@Punches Yep. It has been -30 C here for about 2 weeks straight. That is actually pretty normal. And we are on the prairies so wind chill makes it suck even worse.

There is the cliche that Russia's best general was winter. Same applies to anyone who tried invading us.

Even with the kit issued to American soldiers. The MSS sleeping bag. Even the cold weather bag would have soldiers literally freezing to death in their sleeping bag.

The "cold weather" bag is rated to like -12C. We get those temps in spring time here.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow The US military is better equipped for warmer climates because historically we have fought in hot areas.

I do not know why trump wants to pull some BS in Canada anyways.

What is there that trump just HAS to have? I mean I doubt anything would come of it because this week he is focused on Gaza for some reason.

America cannot even handle it's own problems, let alone try to handle the problems of two nations.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow

The U.S. military maintains cold-weather and mountain warfare training centers at the Army Northern Warfare Training Center at Fort Wainwright, Fairbanks, Alaska, the Army Mountain Warfare School at Camp Ethan Allen, Jericho, Vermont, the Special Forces Command Mountaineering Warfare Training Detachment at Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, Colorado, the U.S. Air Force Arctic Survival School at Eielson AFB, Alaska,[and the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, in Bridgeport, California. Each branch has cold weather elite units trained for arctic combat and special forces units have it as well.
@BrandNewMan That is nice. It doesn't change the fact that you have to live in the environment consistently for your body to adjust. That is physiology. And a few training courses won't change that.

It also doesn't change the fact that the kit issued to US army soldiers is useless for anything worse than a winter in New York State.

Also the schools in Alaska are the only ones where it actually gets cold. And I don't mean by California surfer standards.

This is important. Just because you have mountain forces doesn't mean it is cold. A friend of mine fought in the mountains of Afghanistan and it was +25 C at night in the mountains.

That is summer weather here.

And altitude training doesn't matter anywhere outside of Alberta or BC.

I hate to burst your bubble but 90% of those places are not cold climates.
@BrandNewMan Just with the weather we have had in Winnipeg the last 2 weeks. Any US soldier sleeping outside in the kit they are issued would be dead by morning from hypothermia.

@BrandNewMan Sorry but you have no idea what you are talking about. And it is your country that is talking about invading us about once a week at this point.

And you guys have lost every insurgency war since WW2.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow U.S. military has some of the best cold weather gear in the world. That is what is given to Troops going into cold weather combat .. not the "standard kit". They are trained in cold weather survival in addition to warfare.

At this point I'd almost be glad to see it happen.
@BrandNewMan I can tell you that is a lie. The sleep system is a bad joke. You want to see real cold weather gear look at what is issued to Canadian or Scandinavian troops.

Again. Like I said. Taking a training course doesn't matter. Unless you live in the environment consistently you will not be effective. That is human physiology.

No amount of blind jingoism will change how your body works.

And again. Even when the climate is not against you the US has lost every war involving an insurgency since the 1940s.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Lol .. its used in Alaska you simp .. as harsh as either Canada or Scandinavia. Just stop.
@BrandNewMan Doubt it. Alaska uses alot of non standard equipment.

Like the MOLLEE rucksack is unusable in Alaska and in cold places like Canada because the cheap plastic frame literally shatters.
