DOGE is the attempted gutting of the US administrative state to maximise corporate profits.

I could write an essay on this but it's not complicated.

We were talking about this at work today, the only saving grace is that they are moving so fast to flood the zone people might actually start to feel the consequences while he’s still in office.

It could still go the wrong way long term but it might also be them shooting themselves in the foot

@PalteseMalconFunch I don’t think so. They’re making themselves right. Conservatives have been saying forever, “government doesn’t work, government can’t work.” Well now it’s coming true. It won’t be easy to fix what they’re breaking, and gradually more and more people are going to start singing their tune, “government can’t work.” It’s bad for people to believe that even if Republicans are in office. People are going to want more and more of the government privatized because it’s not working, and it will hit a death spiral.

@Theyitis Yea that’s the outcome I’m predicting. We’ll fall into a cycle of cruel optimism where water we’re doing isn’t working, but that just means we need to do it harder

And then the whole thing will fall apart faster. I don’t think there’s a good ending to this.

@PalteseMalconFunch It's the story of the death-spiral within neoliberalism and the far right. Sigh.

@Burnley123 Exactly.

@PalteseMalconFunch Oh,certain people WILL feel the effects while he is in office.Welfare cheats, illegal aliens, Democrat politicians getting rich on insider trading, they ALL will see it coming.

The average taxpayer will FINALLY feel the government boot off his neck.
