I have found my initial anger and shock turning more into a sense of mourning. I can relate to the look on his face and the tone of his voice. With every headline, I get a sick feeling in my stomach.

That's an awful lot of bitterness to carry around for the rest of his life. It is to be hoped that when more people come to their senses there will be a chance once again for more unity in the US not an uncrossable divide in perpetuity.

@FreddieUK Sadly, the racists here are the ones carrying lifelong bitterness. They are the ones who were apparently waiting for the opportunity to "take back" this country and even though they seemed conciliatory, it was a ruse and they were biding their time until they could reverse the gains made by the previously disenfranchised. 😞
