What is DOGE? And Does This Sound Right?

Out of curiosity, I visited the DOGE website: https://dogegov.com/

I was expecting volumes of information about what DOGE is doing. Instead, the main page only had one paragraph:

Our mission is to decentralize the narrative around government spending, giving power back to the people to hold government entities accountable for their financial decisions. We leverage the power and virality of memes, community and cryptocurrency culture, in an effort to make government transparency not only accessible but also engaging. Through awareness, education, and direct involvement, our community is our strength. Together, we will navigate towards a future where government efficiency is not just a goal but a standard.

The rest of the main page is nothing but links to media stories about DOGE, that do not say anything about what DOGE really is and what DOGE is doing.

The left vertical bar, to my shock, is links to trade in Musk's DOGE crypto currency/memes, not to mention DOGE merchandize. You want a shirt with Musk's head replacing Jack Nicholson from The Shining? You can find it here.

Huh?

In the middle, there's also a link to the Trump Merchandise web site, which is also selling DOGE merchandize.

Of course there's a button that "DOGE Special Agents" can click on to login.

Musk must really think MAGA has crossed stupid into sheep territory.

Speaking of " giving power back to the people to hold ... entities accountable for their financial decisions..."

the tRump admin has ordered the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to shut down and stop work. This bureau gets about 45,000 calls per month from consumers who are the targets of predatory loans, unpaid interest, and other financial misdeeds by large organizations.

The CFPB says that it has obtained nearly $20 billion in financial relief for U.S. consumers since its founding in the form of canceled debts, compensation, and reduced loans. Last month, the bureau sued Capital One for allegedly misleading consumers about its offerings for high-interest savings accounts — and “cheating” customers out of more than $2 billion in lost interest payments as a result, the bureau said.

This bureau policed the big financial firms and protected the average American. Who wins and who loses when it gets shut down??

@ElwoodBlues trump did a quid pro quo right out in the open. It's no suprise he is shutting oversight down. No suprise he is eliminating regulations and restrictions. He said he would. And while these cultists cheer the insanity, the oligarchs horde their wealth and become more powerful. And the cult, still cheering, are rewarded with what?
