Also unlike COVID, denialism doesn't work with bird flu because it had an absurdly high mortality rate (in birds especially): either the sick one get culled and you get to sell less eggs for 2-3x the price, or you pretend it doesn't exist and in 48h you no longer have any birds that lay eggs

Intensive farming make it even worse because you have thousands of animals living in close quarters with a depressed immune system and it just takes a single sick one to get the entire farm halted. Smaller farms and domestic coops seem more resilient (less chance of spreading I suppose, the animals get to have an immune system from not being caged 24/7 and having grown outdoor, not being packed together, etc.)

@YoMomma Any evidence if this? There are no Chinese eggs in Western markets. Also its a problem in the UK where again no Chinese eggs are sold. Doesn't a fake Chinese conspiracy theory sound more unlikely than a world wide well documented disease?
