TARRIFFS...THOUGHTS???

I can see a negative impact on American Consumers.
What solution could be in place as to not cause a terrible impact, food, gas, hardline or softline merchandise?

Perhaps taxes that encourage US domestic investment by US companies, rather than taxing imports including raw materials not available in the country?
