TARRIFFS...THOUGHTS???

I can see a negative impact on American Consumers.
What solution could be in place as to not cause a terrible impact, food, gas, hardline or softline merchandise?

tRump's tariff threats were bluffs, and when the bluffs were called by Canada & Mexico, and US stock markets went into free-fall, tRump backed down in exchange for some face-saving symbolic gestures.

For example, the 10,000 Mexican troops at the border had already been negotiated by Biden in 2021! See https://apnews.com/article/guatemala-honduras-mexico-immigration-border-patrols-917c0fea87c0a807b371da207d34c8cc

Canada made some nice noises about fentanyl, but almost all of it is carried by US citizens thru standard checkpoints on the southern border.

tRump's bluffs were called so he backed down. That's the truth.

@ElwoodBlues I just watched the news and they said that illegal border crossing are down 93 percent.
@Adrift Can you substantiate this claim?

Sorry, but I find the claim highly dubious, and "heard it on TV" really doesn't build confidence.

@ElwoodBlues Is that your default argument?
It was on the News Eisenstein.

Pretty much all of that post is a LIE.
@Reason10 DEAD WRONG!! As usual!!!

tRump tariffs were a bluff. When Canada & Mexico called the bluff, US stock markets went into free-fall, and tRump backed down.

Mexico's 10,000 troops? Biden won that concession in 2021, now tRump is taking credit😂🤣

Canada agreed to appoint a "fentanyl czar," plus
Trudeau noted that Canada is implementing its $1.3 billion border plan to reinforce the border with new equipment and personnel.

“Nearly 10,000 frontline personnel are and will be working on protecting the border,” Trudeau said.

Notice that "Canada is implementing" phrase?? It's because it was a pre-existing plan from last December!

Notice that "are and will be" wording?? That's right, the big "concession" here is that Canada will maintain the same number of border personnel😂

@Adrift Yes it was on the news, straight from the mouth of Trump's "border czar" (a term which the Republicans used to hate) Tom Homan.

So far, not a single news station has been able to verify this.
