USAID an independent agency of the US Government?

With a budget of over $50 billion, USAID is one of the largest official aid agencies in the world and accounts for more than half of all U.S. foreign assistance – the highest in the world in absolute dollar terms.

USAID's decentralized network of resident field missions is drawn on to manage U.S. government programs in low-income countries for various purposes such as disaster relief, poverty relief, technical cooperation on global issues, including the environment.

Is this how Congress has been spending taxpayers' dollars? Trump is shutting it down.

@Crazywaterspring who elected Janet Yellin the one who's policies brought us inflation or Donald Rumsfield who brought us Iraq and Afghanistan. It amazes me how upset people seem about them looking and who's looking but not upset what's being looked at or found.

No surprise. For all their posturing, Republicans actually like illegal immigration from the third world, because it's cheap labor for rich people. That's the reason Trump destabilized Venezuela.
The Republicans want to cut foreign aid because it would mean more mass migration, more illegals into America.
Once you know how the system works, predicting the future is really easy.

I have mixed feelings about this one because yes USAID has done some good in the world but it is also a well established front for the CIA too and is arguably in recent years even more famous for manufacturing colour revolutions as it is anything else.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow USAID is just one sham agency. The CIA has another front in the NED. US politicians stealing of US taxpayers' money has been going on since the Vietnam war. It's all in the name of defending freedom and democracy against the bad guys: terrorists, communists, fascists, and other actors created and funded by America.

You forgot to mention, regime change operations, as was done in Ukraine, attempted in Georgia, attempted in Hungary, worked in Libya, attempted in Belarus, it was an arm of the CIA, A I D does not stand for aid !

President Donald Trump ordered a near-total freeze on all foreign aid. Elon Musk, head of the Department of Government Efficiency, announced the intention of shutting down USAID.

Good job, Mr President. I recommend claw back of American taxpayers' money from politicians, both living and dead, who authorized the disbursements of public funds.

Everyone knows that 95% of that aid never reaches the intended anyways, the governments, and/or warlords confiscate all the food and money anyways.
