Do you think Trump would make US troops invade Canada, Greenland (Denmark) and/or Panama? And what would that mean for US Americans nin your opinion?

No Trump won't invade Canada. He does not have to fire a shot. Canada survives on an unfair trade deal with the US. Trump can and will tariff Canada into negotiations that will keep our border with them closed (from the Canadian side) and to have a much more favorable trade agreement with the US. Greenland is not Denmark, Trump is offering to buy it. If Denmark resists after doing nothing for Greenland for so long, tariffs may change their mind. Panama has violated their treaty with us and allowed China to run the canal. The US built it and now, by the stipulations of the treaty, are the owners again. Panama can fuss all they want and run to the world court, but the US has a case.

@TexChik I think the canal issue might warrant military action. Trump is exactly right. It’s amazing no other politicians have the strategic vision he does.

@carpediem What is Panama going to do? They violated the treaty.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@TexChik Nothing. What can they do? Nothing. Take it back!

world court can't do shit either; oh sure, they'd write a "strongly worded letter", but that's about it. Our military is designed and equipped to fight foreign wars, an advantage we hold over almost everyone else. Most countries have never had to fight a war far beyond reach of their own territory.

@wildbill83 I think seeing a carrier group off their coast will make them a little nervous.

@TexChik Do it! Then walk in and toss the Chinese out and resume control. Panama screwed up the terms of the handover. Enough for me. Now it’s ours again.

@carpediem You can't just walk in and slap the kids around. However, I do think Trump will not let go until the US runs it again.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@TexChik I think you can. But either way, I agree Trump is determined to control it again. Hopefully he TAKES it back.

@carpediem it is a huge opportunity for the US and quite the money maker

@carpediem It really was a bad idea to get rid of the canal. Many say it was the first big bailout for the banks. They had loaned money to central American countries and were never repaid. The US government guaranteed the loans, bad idea again.

@nudistsueaz Lots of bad ideas from lots of bad presidents.

@carpediem You don't have to tell me, we have lived with two of the last three. Lucky we got Trump back when we did. 🙏
