Trump Is Right That Permit Delays for Debris Removal and Rebuilding in Los Angeles Are Inexcusable.

Debris removal is one thing. Rebuilding is another. Plans have to be engineered and approved. Then, building permits, land use permits, mechanicals...etc. having to deal with thousands all at once is mind-boggling. And then there is the contracting. Who is going to do this work? All at once? We have already in this country, labor shortages. Contractors can't find qualified labor. Where are these many thousands of carpenters, electricians, plumbers...etc...and more etc. And then the materials. Trumps tariffs are going to make building materials hard to get and preemptively expensive.
All this and we haven't yet gotten past the threat of mud slides.
