It stands for Diversity Equity Inclusion. This is not a quota program. It's a program that endorses businesses to hire people who would otherwise not be hired. And yes they must be qualified. This includes gender and religion and the disabled. As of right now this program has been discontinued. There are some who feel that DEI has nullified skill. It overlooks the qualifed. Yes, DEI mandates are outdated, and as a minority person, I actually believe they can limit opportunities for other qualified Blacks, Hispanics and Women. When quotas are involved, the focus shifts away from merit and becomes more about filling positions. This approach on hiring generally reduces efficiency. However, if you're running your own private company and choose to implement DEI, that's your prerogative. But that kind of selective approach leads to inefficiency.
