It stands for Diversity Equity Inclusion. This is not a quota program. It's a program that endorses businesses to hire people who would otherwise not be hired. And yes they must be qualified. This includes gender and religion and the disabled. As of right now this program has been discontinued. There are some who feel that DEI has nullified skill. It overlooks the qualifed. People should be hired based on their ability to do the job. There should be no programs that ensure companies are more "diverse". Everyone is different. So if I have 5 black men standing in front of me, I have diversity because each man is his own individual. Each one has a name other than "black person". To think of a person no deeper than the color of their skin is racist.
