It stands for Diversity Equity Inclusion. This is not a quota program. It's a program that endorses businesses to hire people who would otherwise not be hired. And yes they must be qualified. This includes gender and religion and the disabled. As of right now this program has been discontinued. There are some who feel that DEI has nullified skill. It overlooks the qualifed. And promotes discrimination. Do you believe that DEI should be banned.🚫 Best answer wins. 🤔🇺🇸

You are right. People have it backwards, they believe it fosters hiring people with no merit. However it is just ensuring that people with merit can be hired regardless of their colour, race, sex, or gender. I have seen many times workplaces that are in an extremely ethic area, have only white middle aged men as employees. I have also seen a Chinese manager at my work, only hire Asian women in his department. DEI is to ensure this kind of thing doesn't happen.
@JimboSaturn Exactly. They believe however that the word merit means Whites Only. There we go with the coded language. This is how the system operates. You are right.
@JimboSaturn I agree. There are a lot of qualified Blacks who can't get the job because of favortism and DEI, and when those two work together, you get an unqualified person. If there's an issue with getting qualified Blacks, maybe we should look at the innercity school system, or the culture. Hiring unqualified people isn't the answer.
