Question for the Trumpeteers:

Why do you care so much about DEI programs?

How do they personally hurt you?

Can you somehow not buy plywood because of Home Depot’s DEI program?

Can you not enlist in the Coast Guard because of a DEI program?

Budweiser not taste the same because of a DEI program?

I’m trying to understand this backlash beyond good old fashioned bigotry…

Why don't you tell us why a system of merit personally hurts you?

@SumKindaMunster it doesn’t. But I am not a minority being passed over.

@trollslayer I don't know where you or your wife work, but if you work in corporate America, you would intimately know that they strive to hire supposed oppressed minorities ALL THE TIME, but sometimes they aren't qualified and it should not be controversial to pass those people over and hire the best person for the job that you can.

@SumKindaMunster i agree. And I have heard stories of lowering the qualifications for jobs, but as long as the candidate meets the requirements for the job, I have no problem with “diversity” hirings because it aims to correct a problem of discrimination that has existed for decades.

And costco didn’t end their DEI program saying “we want our employees to look like our customers”. So for some businesses, it makes business sense.

@trollslayer I don't agree with you on this point:
I have no problem with “diversity” hirings because it aims to correct a problem of discrimination that has existed for decades.

I don't believe that is what is happening in this day and age. I believe its as I said, its to right past wrongs, and we no longer need to do that.
