Question for the Trumpeteers:

Why do you care so much about DEI programs?

How do they personally hurt you?

Can you somehow not buy plywood because of Home Depot’s DEI program?

Can you not enlist in the Coast Guard because of a DEI program?

Budweiser not taste the same because of a DEI program?

I’m trying to understand this backlash beyond good old fashioned bigotry…

I'm not a Trumpeteer or whatever derogatory term you childishly want to apply to people who support Trump, but I will answer your question sincerely.

My wife was sued twice, for doing her job as a Manager. As part of her job, she must document and fire people who don't perform.

This was very stressful for her and myself personally, as we had to prepare and document her actions for the lawyers. It wasn't a concern regarding the case, but the task itself is demoralizing and stressful. I can say unequivocally that she was falsely accused, as both of these people were fired for cause that had nothing to do with their protected identity, and everything to do with their shitty behavior and lack of work performance.

Had these individuals not felt they could something out of the act of suing, even though it was completely without merit, they likely would not have sued.

They both knew they didn't' have a case, they were suing to see if we would settle.

They both sued under protected identities, one for ageism, and one for religious prosecution. Neither was true and it was clearly documented why they were fired.

One was dismissed entirely, one was settled by my wife's company.

She did her job, but her livelihood was threatened due to laws that make it easy and convenient for losers to exploit for their own selfish personal gain.

@SumKindaMunster i’’m sorry this happened. The same happened at a place I worked at - back in the 1990s. Was your wife forced to hire these people, or you talking only about firing? The latter has been the case for a long time - you can sue anyone as long as you can find a sneaky lawyer to take your case.

@trollslayer One she was instructed to performance manage out. One was just a loon that she had the misfortune to supervise at the time. Neither were her fault, she had not hired either one, and had she had the power, she never would have hired them in the first place.

@Vin53 Oh vinny...always trying to get a rise outta me.

This is what its come to, eh?

Attacking my wife because you can't effectively rebutt my points.

Sad.

You writing from Canada? Made the trek yet? Trump is in office now, you need to put your money where your mouth is.

@SumKindaMunster The facts are the facts bud. Your wife and her company lost, meaning they were in the wrong. That's life little man.

@SumKindaMunster "need to put my $ where my mouth is."

or what? I run the risk of falling further into contempt of a guy who's avatar is herman munster?

EGADS THE HUMILIATION!

@Vin53 Oh Vinny, in your zeal to try and get a rise out of me by disparaging my wife, you missed a very simple and critical detail...she didn't lose...one case was dismissed and one was settled.

I am not familiar with how a civil case works there in Canada, but in America that's not a loss.

I showed my wife your comments. She was amused and asked me why I bother to speak to someone like you, she didn't think it was a good use of my time....she's a wise woman....
