145 House Dems Vote Against Bill to Deport Illegal Aliens Who Commit Sexual Assault
On Thursday, over 140 Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives voted against a bill that would expedite the deportation of illegal aliens who are convicted of sexual crimes, including sexual assault.
Fox News reports that the bill, H.R. 30, passed with 274 votes in favor and 145 votes against. The bill was introduced by Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), had also introduced the bill in the previous session of Congress, where it was opposed by 158 Democrats.
“Our country has been ravaged by a horror of illegal immigrants…violently raping American women and girls,” said Mace during the House debate on the bill. “I know the lifelong scars, the irreversible scars, these heinous crimes leave behind.”
But Democrats attempted to argue that the bill would cause harm to victims of domestic abuse, in the event that victims fight back against their assailants. Far-left Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), claimed with no evidence that Mace’s bill “does absolutely nothing to address the needs of the American people,” and instead simply “widens the highway to Donald Trump’s mass deportation plans.”
“The Left justifying why they are against deporting r*pists, p*deophiles, and m*rderers who are here ILLEGALLY, never ceases to amaze me,” said Mace said in a response post on X.
Having passed the House, the bill now heads to the U.S. Senate. The bill is one of several hardline immigration measures that has been introduced since the start of the 119th Congress, including the Laken Riley Act.
