What Needs To Be Done in California So More People Won't Lose Homes To Any Fires

Vote in competent officials.

I'm a Californian, lived in L.A. for a long time, in the mountains now and am intimately aware of wildfires.
My take is that nothing can be done.

The rebuilding of new houses, if it happens, will have more stringent fire regulations because of new laws. Many of the homes in Altadena are from the 20's and 30's.But even with that fire doesn't care.

This was a confluence of conditions that just aren't seen. Definitely not in January. Literally the perfect storm. There's nothing government or firefighters, with grounded aircraft, could do as far as stopping embers from flying miles in to neighborhoods. Those who aren't as cognizant of wildfire as some others. And I don't think it's their fault. CA has the best wildland firefighters anywhere and they couldn't get in front of any these fires. Everyone was at the mercy of a raging, hungry beast. An element of nature that is uncontrollable when it's powered up.

What's hard to watch though is that instead of respect and humility in the face of an extraordinarily powerful force, and understanding what that means, blaming and politicizing has been the result.

The arrogance, ignorance and deceitfulness of humanity is on full display. And it sucks.

maybe if people cut the trees or shrubbery thats around their house down like the one in hawaii it wont attract the fire. maybe not helpful though with the winds they are experiencing

The Democrats would have to fall and that won't happen. I'd say get used to empty dam's and more cuts to municipalities so they can fund more liberal social ideologies. It's honestly too late. They'll need to collapse before they replenish the water they've diverted restart environmental management practices and rebuild the fire departments.

Idkw the Dem's just don't utilize their weather machines and move the Santa Anas out to sea, jeez Louise!

Urban planning and design changes with cars replaced largely by public transportation.
