Transition Live Updates: Trump Suggests U.S. Territorial Expansion and Airs Grievances

In an hourlong news conference at Mar-a-Lago, President-elect Donald J. Trump refused to rule out using military force to retake the Panama Canal, which was returned by treaty in the late 1990s, and acquire Greenland, which Mr. Trump said was necessary for U.S. national security.

He also wants to force Denmark to sell Greenland to the United States.

In a rambling, hourlong news conference, Mr. Trump also reiterated his threat that “all hell will break out in the Middle East” if the hostages being held by Hamas are not released by Inauguration Day, repeating the threat four times.

Mr. Trump refused to say whether he would pardon Jan. 6 rioters, and instead pivoted to criticism of the F.B.I. In his opening comments, he announced a multibillion-dollar plan to build data centers in multiple states bankrolled by investors from Dubai. He then repeatedly attacked President Biden and other foes.

As if there was any doubt prior...to not rule out using force to "take back" the Panama Canal, force Denmark to sell Greenland, and wants to annex Canada....his cheese has finally slipped off his cracker. MAGA types...is this why you voted for him?

his cheese has finally slipped off his cracker.

We deserve what we get. We voted for the douche and it doesn't matter if you or I did not vote for him.

@Northwest totally agreed...he is soon to be the President of our nation....but I hope his minions don't expect us to shut and fall in line like they did for Biden (not!)

@Corporalcolleague Anything so he doesn't have to admit that less inflation doesn't mean lower prices. Being anti-union, and pro-tariff isn't going to raise wages, either.

@Bumbles I am going to bet that when prices do not come down he will only blame Biden/Harris...the next four years will be his agenda failing because of Biden, just like he blamed his first four years on Obama.....it sucks when you want to be an autocrat and the inconvenient US Constitution won't let you....

@CorporalcolleagueIndeed, everything will be about them. I think MAGA will just say the economy is doing great, and leave it at that. Faith in Trump comes first, the details after.
@Bumbles As long as the lazy people in red states get their welfare checks, life is good as far as they're concerned.

@independentone They can always blame their lot on immigrants...
@Bumbles And they do. The people of the South were only here to supply cheap labor, but the immigrants work harder, complain less and do better work for less money.
