How many times should he say that before I decide it means something? 🤔

I think it is very simple. Trump wants the u s to have more territory than russia and china. Well...and canada.
That's it.
@Carla yeah, maybe. I'll bet he hasn't even thought it through. But someone just needs to say 1 word to him and the light will go on: permafrost

Why would Republicans support this? If Canada was a US state, Republicans would never win a presidential election. The pop of Canada is larger than California. Moreover, Canada is pro-immigration, universal healthcare and pro-abortion, pro-lbgt, all the things republicans claim to hate!
@Jokersswild and how do you think Republicans feel about all that on their border? As surely as Canada wishes they could stop all the guns at the border, Republicans also feel the heat. Adding to the American population by 15% with pinkos might be a good way to get them under control!
But supposing Canada didn't become the 51st state, but became states 51 through 63! How would that change American politics?

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP The Republican Party would likely cease to exist. They would likely be absorbed by more moderate factions, the likes of Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski.

Isn't Canada still in the Commonwealth of Nations? Their polical system is also a bit different from ours, so I believe.
@Jokersswild it is part of the British Commonwealth, but more importantly, its government is "Westminster", so that alone would be an upheaval

Just like the United States, Canada is large country as it is and thus, too big to be a single state, much less a single province.

It's just physically, geographically and logistically impossible.

That's why Canada is segmented into 10 Provinces and 2 Territories.

From east to west...

-Newfoundland & Labrador.
-Nova Scotia.
-New Brunswick.
-Prince Edward Island.
-Québec.
-Ontario.
-Manitoba.
-Saskatchewan.
-Alberta.
-British Colombia.

Then going north of that, there's Yukon and the Northwest Territories.

Trump is trolling but the Canadian Conservatives who like him should take this seriously.

America first means Canada last.
@Burnley123 what conservatives who like him? As amazingly high as his approval was in Canada in October, it seems to have all evaporated. I'm sure the tariff scare is just a coincidence

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP Ha!

I commented on Dippy Joe's post to try and get his 'insight'. His answer should be amusing.
It's like calling latin American countries your "backyard". It makes conservatives feel good.

@Roundandroundwego Reminds me of one of those Memes about the popular girl from high school, now out of shape and struggling, with 5 kids and living on welfare, she wants attention but no one seems to be interested anymore.
@Jokersswild non sequitur, of course.

Found a poll stating that, " 82 percent of Canadians would not like to become the 51st state."

Why would they? They would be giving up their sovereignty... to get what exactly? lol
