Insurrectionist-Cry-Baby-trump and his puppet master, Elon Musk, team up to shut down the government.

He knows that bonds will make up for the difference. So it won't fall on him.

The dept ceiling he even wants to remove. So he can spend it on darn his wall. And blame the increase in bonds on Democrats.

The 14th amendment is all messed up into this.

It takes some control of the budget out of the Congress and gives portions of control (bonds through the Treasury)
to the president.

The debt ceiling, created under the Second Liberty Bond Act of 1917, sets the maximum amount of money that the United States can borrow.1 Some constitutional scholars argue that Section 4 of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, known as the Public Debt Clause, allows the president to authorize the Treasury Department to borrow without regard for the debt ceiling in order to pay the debt Congress has authorized.2 Others claim that Article 1, Section 8, which gives Congress the power to “...pay the Debts...,” supersedes Section 4.3

Neither argument has been tested in the courts, leaving the question open until a U.S. president attempts to invoke the 14th Amendment to circumvent Congress and prevent what nearly everyone agrees would be a constitutional crisis should the U.S. default on its debt.

Trump pulled a similar trick in 2019...

Under Trump's plan, $3.6 billion assigned to military construction, $2.5 billion meant for the Department of Defense's drug interdiction activities, and $600 million from the Treasury's forfeiture fund would be diverted for wall construction.[5][6][7] Trump's declaration was unprecedented in that none of the 58 previous emergency declarations made by U.S. presidents involved circumventing Congress to spend money it had expressly refused to authorize or allocate.

Notice it involved the Treasury in that as well. No debt ceiling now? No budget spending problems. Everything for the wall can be done through the Treasury without Congresses approval.

I highly doubt that this supreme Court will rule against him on this. They want a dictator in charge of spending. Not Congress. SCOTUS never ruled against him on that.

SCOTUS wanted a dictator, they gave a crown to the dictator. In case his Republican Congress turned traitors against him.

All hale Julius Caesar! Brutus can no longer kill you.

Its happened before and functioned fine.
The budget is all democratic pork and you know it

@Patriot96 Oh you mean like all the incentives, subsidies, and tax breaks that Elon Musk's companies get and were originally reduced in the first bill he blocked and was restored in the second bill that he approved, but 38 Republicans and all Democrats rejected. You mean pork like that... I'm sure.

It's happened dozens of times before and eventually they all sit down and work it out, where have you been? Apparently you're not as well informed as you think!

Think how much we'll save if they cut everything related to Tesla and SpaceX out of the budget.
