The importance is not so much about those who died that day as opposed to other days during the war.
The importance of that "day of infamy" has been to not ever get got sleeping again. To be vigilent and prepared. Unfortunately, that only served us well up until September 11, 2001.
My point is undue fixation on the first day.

@beckyromero Yes. And it's still important to know about the actual victims of who were also Japanese immigrants who lived in Hawaii.
