Reality shock - China's carbon emissions doubled in the past decade, while the US went into debt to subsidize renewable energy.

“What if I told you” . . . that we’re trapped in a false reality, and nothing we’ve been told is real? No . .. this isn’t what Morbius told Neo in the Matrix. But close enough. The lie we’re being told is that the Trillions America goes into debt to halt climate change aren’t going to make a difference. Because China is doubling its carbon emissions every 10 years, and now emits as nearly much CO2 as the entire rest of the world combined. Double the CO2 from the US, Europe, and India combined. See link below.

Before you dismiss these findings as BS, consider the source: the uber-respected Global Carbon Project. This is not some self-promoting US government agency, which has a vested interest keeping its ginormous budgets alive.

But how can this be? How can China have doubled CO2 over the decade? They’re flooding the internet with pictures of giant wind turbines.

Um . . . yes, they are. But if you google “air pollution in China”, you can see the emissions in real time. China continues to open coal fired electric plants at a record pace. Because, you know, they want to sell us Chinese made EVs. Steel. HDTVs. Clothing. Anything made out of plastic. Check your Amazon shopping cart. Where do your purchases come from, and what are they made of? Wind turbines aren’t being used to make steel. Or China’s military preparations to invade Taiwan. Or vast, empty Mongolian factory cities, which may never be completed.

We’re all gonna die, and there’s nothing we can do. As long as China (and India) continue to expand their fossil fuel use exponentially, there aren’t enough places in America to put solar panels and wind farms to make a difference. In case you missed it, India is now the primary buyer of Russian oil and coal. You can see their cargo ships jockeying for position in the port of Mumbai, with satellite photos.

The real problem is NOT America’s insatiable demand for new cars, 75 inch televisions, smart phones, and designer athletic footwear. It’s the aspirations of the REST of the world to live exactly like we do. THAT’s why we’re all gonna die. Everyone is inevitably going to have cars, and lots of electronic gear, and a ginormous wardrobe. China simply wants to sell them all that stuff.

I’m just sayin’ . . .

Very informative post! I enjoyed reading the data you presented.

I did a bit of research on my own to see where Canada stands on this issue of coal and carbon footprints. The first thing I learned was that Canada as a nation consumes more maple syrup annually than it consumes by burning coal. I thought that was an amazing wakeup call to all Canadians to stop consuming so damn much maple syrup!

And did you know that once a Canadian Sugar Maple tree is tapped for maple sap that the tree itself is no longer any good for hardwood lumber? The only maple trees that are used for hardwood lumber in Canada are trees that were never tapped to extract maple sap which is used for maple syrup production.

Of particular note is the fact that about 15 years ago, Canada slowly began eliminating close to 95% of all coal-fired electricity generating plants across Canada and has eliminated 100% of all coal-fired steel manufacturing plants in Canada which have transitioned to natural gas from coal.

What I found odd however, was that Canada exports 95% of it's coal reserves to Asia and India while using only .5% of it's coal reserves for it's own use... that's correct, "point five percent".

What blew me away however, was that China is #1 on the list for being the top coal consumer in the world, followed at #2 spot by India and followed at #3 spot by the USA!

China consumes 50% of all coal burnt in the world while the USA consumes 8.5% of the total coal burnt in the world!

Way down at the #19 spot is Canada which consumes a whopping .5% of all coal burnt in the world annually.

Now, I don't feel so guilty about eating so much maple syrup!

@swirlie they can't use the "tapped" trees because the steel pipes they hammer in aren't easily removed. they just leave them in. and if they go to the sawmill, the machinery gets damaged.
@SusanInFlorida
That is totally wrong, not even close, just like most of the stuff you post on SW.

The steel spigots are easily removed but the act of boring into a tree to insert a spigot in the first place is what degrades the wood on the inside, thereby preventing the tree from being sold as Grade 'A' lumber. That tree can only be turned into framing lumber, like 2x4's and rough-cut lumber.
